AcademyHealth
AcademyHealth provides HRSA grantees with technical assistance as they move forward with their research, analyses, and development of coverage options. This includes site visits to each state and working with grantees to answer questions about their grant and the activities of other states. AcademyHealth also serves as the national program office SCI.
SHADAC
The State Health Access and Data Center (SHADAC), funded by a grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is a research and policy center at the University of Minnesota that provides advice and technical support to state analysts and policymakers in the areas of survey design, data collection, and policy development. In addition to providing more direct hands-on services to SPG recipients through individual contracts with the SPG states, SHADAC provides general technical assistance and advice to the HRSA SPG awardees, including:
- Expertise on a variety of data-related topics, including use of the Current Population Survey;
- Advice on collecting quantitative and qualitative data; and
- A series of issue and research briefs that address key policy and measurement issues.
Among SHADAC's resources are:
- The Coordinated State Coverage Survey (CSCS), a household instrument that measures coverage, particularly among low-income populations, and has been fielded by numerous previous SPG recipients;
- Research on factors contributing to coverage and access; and
- Interactive databases with information about other state surveys available at www.shadac.org.
American Institutes for Research
The American Institutes for Research provided grantees with strategic communications assistance.
Annual Reporting
State Planning Grantees are required to annually report to HRSA on the progress of their grant.
