In 2003, Mississippi received HRSA SPG funds to research and develop a strategy for providing access to affordable health insurance for every citizen of the state. Mississippi focused its research on collecting and analyzing data to describe the characteristics of the uninsured; designing a program to reduce the uninsured through state, federal, and private partnerships; and designing feasible options for identified population.
