The
State Coverage Initiatives program invites state officials
to attend a 1 ½ day workshop focused on cost-containment
on July 18-19, 2002 in Chicago. In a time of escalating health care
costs and declining state budgets, this workshop will examine the
cost drivers contributing to the current environment and highlight
innovative cost-containment strategies in both the public and private
sector.
Emphasizing
discussion and problem-solving, the workshop sessions will focus
on issues such as:
- Health
Care Cost Drivers - Perspectives on Public and Private Expenditure
Growth
- How
Premium Increases are Impacting States and the Private Sector
- Strategies
for Controlling State Health Expenditures
- Lessons
from the Private Sector
- Regulation
vs. Competition in State Health Insurance Markets
The
State Coverage Initiatives program is committed to creating
